'Not only has it taught me everything I could need to know & more about becoming a DJ, it has taught me so much about music in general and about myself'

About me

Music is the love of my life, my biggest passion with House Music very much at the core of that and of me. As a seasoned clubber and Ibiza veteran, I have always been in awe of the DJ. Fascinated by a correctly built set and the elevation of mood this can bring. I first touched a pair of decks in my teens and if someone had told me back then I would now be DJing in some of Londons super clubs, I would not of believed them! Becoming a DJ is something I only thought possible in my wildest dreams and having completed this course, I can now tell you that dreams can come true!
The day I walked through the studio doors, I knew my life had changed forever and it most certainly has! Not only has it taught me everything I could need to know & more about becoming a DJ, it has taught me so much about music in general and about myself. Taking this course has boosted my confidence hugely and enabled me to pursue and achieve many goals in many ways. Mantas is an amazing teacher, who's level of personal skill is inspiring. Furthermore in addition to the technical skills, he really takes the time to understand you personally, which helped to identify my sound and embrace my style and uniqueness as a DJ.  I cannot recommend this course enough, I have made some wonderful friends throughout this journey and I shall continue along this path as I now embark upon the Ableton course to start producing my own tracks - another dream that would not be possible without become a DJ. The opportunities are endless for those who wish to pursue them. Go for it! :)

'Djing makes me feel alive. Positive. In love'

About me

I was 39 years old when I took the course. I had no music or DJ background experience whatsoever. But as soon as my hands got the grip on the jog wheels, without hesitation, I fell in love with the decks. Like any other DJ, the main reason why we all do this is because we want to share our passion for music with the world; especially those mixing minutes when we are creating something special and unique. Djing makes me feel alive. Positive. In love.
What a great decision to start a DJ course with Mantas at 'Become A DJ'. From the first day I knew I was in good hands - he makes everything look so easy! His teaching technique is unique making the course enjoyable and wanting to come back class after class. I started my course at the end of May 2013 and by the end of September 2013 I was doing my first live performance. After that, I did another three live performances- one of them was in Pacha and another one in Cargo (Shoreditch) - pretty amazing venues for a new DJ – and all thanks to Become A DJ! For anyone looking for a one to one DJ course in London I would definitely recommend Become A DJ.

Its incredible how through music, you can experience a complete spectrum of emotions, in the matter of minutes

About me

A London based DJ, who simply loves good music. Discovering that new bass line or that new infectious melody that stays in your head all day, is priceless. Its incredible how through music, you can experience a complete spectrum of emotions, in the matter of minutes. I have played the piano and I have played the drums, but nothing is more satisfying than two turntables, a mixer and a great crowd!
If you are truly passionate about your music and the art of DJ-ing, I can assure you, you have come to the right place. For years I had been a bedroom DJ, but consistently became frustrated. I had hit a brick wall. How could I take it to another level and play the music I love, to a real audience? Mantas had the answer and more! I have learnt more in matter of months, than I would have in another 5 years! Each lesson I would come away with even more tips, tricks and ideas. I have always dreamt about becoming a DJ, and now I can truly say, I have become a DJ. Thank you Mantas!

About me

I’m an Architect working full time in London since 2004, love doing any kind of sports and travelling as much as I can. Who doesn’t? I’ve always had a certain passion for music and the social aspect of life, and spent much of my youth in the rave scene. I’ve had the chance to see some of the great DJ’s live such as Mauro Picotto, Timo Mass, John Digweed, and Sasha. When I was 21 I had my first taste of DJ’ing. It was at a party with all my friends at the beach house in Peru. I was one of the 2 Dj’s at that party... The music always meant more to me than the social scene. It’s just taken me a while to understand exactly what it was that fascinated me. Since I began DJ’ing, I’ve realised that the musical journey for me lies in the connections between the songs, rather than in the song itself. A single song can be enhanced if it’s mixed correctly, and for me, that is the art of DJ’ing. In architectural terms, a building will have more meaning if built in the right context. If not, it will be far less appreciated. The same applies to a set. A good DJ knows his crowd and has the ability to take them on an exhilarating journey. And this is what I’ll be striving for!
I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to Become a DJ. About the teacher...He is patient, very talented, knowledgeable, knows how to listen to his students, and most importantly, he is passionate. Thanks to Mantas and our shared passion for the music, I was subsequently able to do my first live gig after only four months of classes! Thank you so much Mantas – you are not only an excellent teacher, but a friend as well.

'I’m so glad I took this road, I’m more inspired and more passionate than I ever was before'

About me

I grew up in Melbourne, Australia and from a very young age, I have always had a love for music. My music taste is very broad and I love everything from The Beatles to Metallica. I discovered my love for dance music late in my teens when a friend of mine handed me his discman and asked me to have a listen. It was Fatboy Slims ‘Rockafella Skank’ and from that moment on music had a whole new meaning. I spent my 20’s following around DJ’s in Melbourne’s amazing underground club scene and from watching those DJ’s I was inspired to do it myself. A year before moving to London I bought my own decks and messed around teaching myself what I could and playing the occasional party. It’s a passion I’ve held on to and after arriving in London I decided to pursue it further. Having completed the ‘Become A DJ’ course with Mantas, I now have the confidence and a burning desire to play clubs and bars around London and hopefully Europe. Time to Live the Dream...
Despite owning my own decks for a year and trying to teach myself, I was aware there was a limit to how much further I could go so I decided to do the course with Mantas. In my free first lesson it became apparent how many bad habits I had developed and how much I had to learn. I also knew that Mantas was definitely someone I could work with. I could tell he was passionate about his craft, extremely knowledgeable and in it for the love of the music. I really liked how Mantas’ tailors the course to you personally, he will slow down if something is not clicking but will also move along quickly if need be. He has a great teaching style and a very clear way of explaining things. I would recommend the course to anyone considering it, the great thing is it’s a pay as a go system so if it turns out to not be for you there’s no financial obligation. I’m so glad I took this road, I’m more inspired and more passionate than I ever was before!

'After growing a love for house music, I had always wanted to start DJing but never really got off my ass and did anything about it'

About me

South African born, London based DJ, music lover and promoter with an ear for bass-driven, deep and techy beats. Dope Disco resident and promoter since early 2011, he now plays back2back sets with partner in crime, KillEmilio, under the alias Kids in Full Flex (K.I.F.F.). Clubs played at include Ministry of Sound, Pacha London, Electric Brixton, East Village and Public Life under labels like Cadenza, We Love, L.W.E., Finalé and Stepforward.
After growing a love for house music from an early age I had always wanted to start DJing but never really got off my ass and did anything about it!...until 2010. My mate Ryan recommended Mantas to me as a brilliant DJ teacher and spoke highly of the DJ courses he offers. I called Mantas up and he invited me over for a trial lesson. The minute I touched those decks I knew this is what I wanted to do. Within a couple lessons I had managed to master beat matching and not long after I was mixing like a pro. With Mantas's club standard equipment and extensive experience and knowledge of DJing I would highly recommend his courses for anyone looking to start DJing with an advantage over self-taught DJ’s.
