Best Techno nights in London this September
Us Londoners are pretty lucky to have such a rich underground music scene available to us. While European cities like Berlin and Amsterdam have been leading the way for quite a while, we are blessed with an abundance of quality underground events to choose from.
We’re often asked for recommendations by our clients so have decided to launch a new monthly blog series: “Best electronic music nights in London”. This will feature our own personal recommendations due to a night’s promise given the line up, venue, and vision of the promoters. The sound and style we love is often described as ‘deep and hypnotic techno’, plus we generally prefer smaller, intimate venues, so you can expect recommendations reflecting this. Also included will be nights that our clients organise or perform at.
The best (in our opinion) music events this September:
1. Voices from the Lake at Barbican - 21st of September

An absolute must for any electronic music fan… I have no doubts this event will have therapeutic powers and be the ultimate inspiration. Voices from the Lake is the collaboration of two producers and DJs, Neel and Donato Dozzy - a project born out of the serene Japanese mountainscape during 2011’s Labyrinth festival. They will bring their multi-layered soundscapes to London’s famous Barbican for the first time. Joining them will be Grand River & Marco Ciceri presenting FOG – a live audio-visual piece.
2. Crescent London x On Board Music - 16th of September
Crescent London is a record label and event series promoting deep & hypnotic techno with ambient textures and dub elements, co-run by one of our clients. For this event, Crescent has invited one of the most exciting talents from the modern techno scene, Polygonia, a musician and artist who embraces the beauty of diversity with her outputs solidly grounded in deep and ambient.
3. Wata Igarashi all night long at Pickle Factory - 23rd of September
Pickle factory is one of our favourite venues in London. An intimate 250 capacity with a great sound system makes it an ideal location to experience the Wata Igarashi magic. Wata is one of the leading techno artists in Japan and his emotive and dynamic productions have been released on labels such as Semantica, Midgar, Time to Express, The Bunker and more.
4. Technomate at Unit 58 - 9th of September
Technomate is a queer collective running a podcast series, events and editorial features by FLINTA artists. This is another project run by one of our clients and we nothing but full support and love for the love she puts into Technomate, creating a safe and inspiring space for the queer community. The 7th edition of Technomate taking place on 9th of September will showcase artists from Berlin, Montreal and London across the realms of breaks, bass-bits, techno, hardgroove, and more. This event is geared towards people appreciating the faster and harder side of the sound.
5. Volt at E1 - 9th of September
Another event recommendation for the lovers of gritty and industrial techno spread over the three rooms. The lineup is powerful and includes SNTS, Sateoc Mass, SHDW & Obscure Shape, as well as some local London talent: Redd Ophis, Polanski, Antonio de Angelis, and Arnaud Le Texier. E1 as a venue is not everyone’s cup of tea - it has a 1,600 capacity, some complain about the sound quality, and security are said to not be th friendliest around, but if you are in the mood for a large scale event, this could be a worthwhile option.
